Glenside, Pa. – The Stevens Institute of Technology men's basketball team outscored host Arcadia University 44-25 in the second half en route to a 76-55 triumph in Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom action on Wednesday.

Kyle Maddison had a game-high 26 points for Stevens (11-3, 3-0 MAC Freedom) as Jack Spellman tallied 23 points and 21 rebounds. Dom Vasquez registered 15 points for Arcadia (7-7, 2-1 MAC Freedom).

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Ducks opened the game with an 11-3 run, as Maddison notched five points and Spellman had four during the run. A Spellman putback off a miss with 12:17 remaining in the opening half extended the lead to nine as Stevens called their first timeout of the period. The Knights closed to within four with just under six minutes left, but Stevens answered with six of the next eight markers. A triple from Maddison made it 30-22 with 2:27 left. However, the home side responded with an 8-2 run to end the half, as a three-pointer from Josh Parks at the buzzer made it 32-30.

Stevens shot a blistering 51.7% (15-of-29) from the floor in the opening 20 minutes as Arcadia hit 40% (12-of-30) of their shots.

Stevens managed to keep Arcadia at arm's length during the opening minutes of the second stanza before a Mike Goodall three-pointer pushed the lead up to eight. The Ducks extended the margin to double-figures on an 11-4 run, as a pair of Spellman free throws capped the rally off. The Knights got as close as 13 the rest of the way, as Stevens polished off the game with a 13-5 run. Spellman registered a season-high with 23 points while snaring 21 rebounds. Tonight's game marked the second time in three contests with 21 or more rebounds.

Maddison's 26 points marked a career-high, surpassing his previous best of 21 against Widener on December 7. The sophomore shot 11-of-16 from the floor and was 4-of-6 from deep.

Stevens, as a unit, shot 52.8% (28-of-53) from the floor, which was their third highest of the season.上海龙凤419
